Brum Music Month Special
We mentioned it on Saturday’s show, the second [EDIT] radio show in June — that’s Saturday 13th June— as part of Birmingham Music Month — will be a Birmingham Music only special.
Our guest will be Jez from the Birmingham Music Archive and we’re going to pick our favourite Birmingham music gems. But. We’re going to turn half the show over to you — to pick your favourite brum bands and songs.
You can suggest anything you like, but we’ll not be deviating too far from the Big Paws policy of playing brand new tunes and obscure classics — so try and think of something that we and our audience might not have heard before.

lack of modesty forces me to suggest anything off http://www.last.fm/music/the+winterval+conspiracy – it's all a bit of a mix, some dance-ish, some jazz-ish, some straight classical, some noise, so there should be something there which will fit into the rest of the playlist…

I have a soft spot for the late-90s tunes of Avrocar and Magnetophone and the whole “We Brought Our Friends” gang who put on gigs at the Flapper. Can provide MP3s if needbe.

I vote you give DRAG a listen – they're a Birmingham based female fronted sleazy-punk band. Reminiscent of 90's riot grrrl, with a sexy edge – and certainly different from other bands around in the midlands at the moment!
