  • McDonald’s introduced the Chicken McNugget.
  • The Big films of the year where Flashdance and Return of the Jedi
  • The De Lorean Motor Company ceased production.

  • It was the Last Christmas for Buckminster Fuller the American architect, Joan Miró the Catalan painter and soft rock fans the world over bade goodbye to tragic Karen Carpenter, the singer and drummer
  • Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” was released and by the end of the year became 1983′s biggest selling album of all time.
