  • Simon and Garfunkel performed in front of  half a million people in  Central Park, New York.
  • Antigua and Barbuda gained independence from Britian
  • Spawned in this year, poor man’s Steve McManaman Owen Hargreaves, SexyBack singer Justin Timberlake, Paris Hilton the slut named after a hotel
