- Knob-knifer Lorena Bobbitt wss found not guilty by reason of insanity on charges of mutilating her husband John.
- Edvard Munch’s painting “The Scream” was stolen from a gallery in Oslo
- Kurt Cobain the ‘hate himself and want to die” songwriter and frontman for the band Nirvana, was found dead at his Lake Washington home
- Three-time Formula One world champion Ayrton Senna was killed in an accident during the San Marino Grand Prix
- “If the glove doesn’t fit, you must aquit” OJ Simpson was cleared of murder
- It turned out nice again for George Foreman who won the WBA and IBF World Heavyweight Championships by KO’ing Michael Moorer and became the oldest heavyweight champion in history.
- It was the year that the first passengers traveled through the Channel Tunnel.
- Home Secretary Michael Howard announced that Myra Hindley would serve a whole life tariff for the Moors Murders of the 1960s.
- Fire destroyed Norwich Central Library, including most of its obviously important historical records about tractors and sheep.

- Those with soil falling over their heads in this year were: TV’s The Joker Cesar Romero, funny fat man John Candy and Sierra Leonean diplomat, UN official and author Abioseh Nicol,
- Woodstock ’94 was held in Saugerties, New York. It was the 25-year anniversary of Woodstock in 1969.
